When a picture’s worth a thousand words

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codesI came across some great examples this week of using pictures to tell your story.

Brian Clark at Copyblogger reminds us that strong visuals - like the fish in Finding Nemo - are worth an hour’s worth of words

Liz Strauss hit us with a powerful reminder that we work to make a living… using the picture of a jar of crayons to make the point.

Last but certainly not least check out the moving picture Mike Sansone’s posted at Converstations - telling the story of a 12th century call to the IT helpdesk…Guaranteed to make you smile.

As a wordsmith I probably don’t pay enough attention to the impact of visuals.  There’s a useful article at Problogger on finding the right combination of words and images - and tips on how to make the most of your own photographs.

How much attention do you pay to the pictures that tell your story?  Have  you got a formula that works on the balance between pictures and words?

PS The picture at the top is from ImageChef - check it out if you’re interested in customised images for your blog
