One issue, one day, thousands of voices

Action_125x125What would happen if every blog published posts discussing the same issue, on the same day?

That’s the question that’s being asked, the challenge that’s been thrown down by the organisers of Blog Action Day.  This year on October 15th they’re organising a mass day of blog-writing action.  The idea is that

“bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind - the environment. Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic. Our aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future.”

It’s a simple but powerful idea.  Who knows what new ideas, new possibilities might come out of it, not just talking about but shaping and creating a better future.

It’s also easy to get involved.  There are three things you can do.  1. Donate your blog’s earnings (I wish!) for that day to an environmental charity.  2. Promote Blog Action Day around the web. 3. Post on your blog about the environment on the 15th October

To make it easier for them to keep track of the campaign they’re also asking bloggers to register their interest. (It only takes a minute to do.)  So far they’re up to an estimated readership of over 650,000 people…

Oh and by the way you can write about the environment in relation to your normal subject matter rather than going off topic - which should make for an amazing diversity of articles and stories…
